Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2 October 2026

KenDrive is a revision app for the UK car theory test. This policy explains what happens to your data.

Who we are: KenDrive is published by Issam El Khaili, an individual developer based in Morocco ("we"). Contact: support@kendriveapp.com. We don't run any servers that store your personal data; the only personal data we receive directly is email you choose to send us.

What stays on your iPhone

Your answers, progress, settings, test date and mock results are stored only on your device. You don't need an account, and we don't collect any of this. KenDrive has no analytics of its own and never asks for permission to track you.

The app also keeps a few ad counters on your device so it can stick to its ad limits: when you started using the app, the ad level you've reached, how many sessions you've finished since the last ad, when ads were shown today, when you last watched an ad you chose, any 24-hour break from ads you've earned, when you were last asked for a rating, whether your last Check or mock was a pass, whether you own the Pass Pack (when it's offered) and how you answered Pass Pack offers, and the reference details of the last ad you saw (used only if you choose Report an ad). They never leave your iPhone unless you send that report yourself.

Advertising

KenDrive is free and shows ads from Google AdMob. A full-screen ad may appear between study sessions (never inside a lesson, Check or mock). You can also choose to watch a short ad to unlock an extra mock test, or for 24 hours with no ads between sessions. The rules are in the app under Profile › Ads › About ads.

To show and measure these ads, Google may collect from your device:

  • device identifiers (an app- or device-specific identifier; KenDrive never asks for tracking permission, so your advertising identifier (IDFA) is not available),
  • coarse location (estimated from your IP address),
  • device and app details (device type, iOS version, language, the app and the ad slot, and the time),
  • ad interaction (which ads were shown, taps and views),
  • diagnostics (crash and performance data).

KenDrive asks Google for non-personalised ads, which are not based on your past behaviour, and only for ads suitable for general audiences. Google may still use this data to measure ads, limit how often you see the same ad, and prevent fraud; identifiers used to measure ads are only used if you agree on Google's consent form. Google handles this data under its own privacy policy. We don't receive your personal data from Google, only overall reports (for example, how many ads were shown).

Google processes this data under its own privacy policy and its terms with us, which give your data the same or equal protection as this policy.

Your choices: in the UK and EEA, Google's consent form asks for your choices before ads load, and you can say no as easily as yes. You can change your choices at any time in Profile › Ads › Ad privacy choices.

Nothing depends on your choice. Whatever you choose on the consent form, every part of KenDrive works the same. If that means no ad can be shown when you ask for an extra mock, the mock starts free.

Ad limit settings

When you open KenDrive (at most once every 15 minutes), the app may download a small settings file from our website, https://kendriveapp.com/ads-limits.json. The file can only switch ads off or lower how many ads may appear each day; it can never add ads.

The request contains no personal data: no identifiers, nothing about your study, and no cookies. Like any visit to a website, our web host sees your IP address, the time, and the app and iOS network software version, and keeps them in its standard server logs for as long as our web host, Render, keeps them under its privacy policy. We don't use these logs to identify anyone.

Notifications

If you turn on reminders, KenDrive schedules a local notification on your iPhone. Nothing is sent to us.

Optional backup & sync (when available)

If you choose Sign in with Apple to back up your progress, we store your answers (which question, which option, when) and an account identifier from Apple on our server, only to sync your progress between your devices. You can delete the account and all synced data at any time in Profile › Account. We never sell or share this data.

Pass Pack purchase (when available)

In some versions you can buy a Pass Pack, a one-off in-app purchase that removes all ads and unlocks unlimited mock tests. The purchase is handled entirely by Apple: we never see your payment details, name or Apple Account. KenDrive only asks Apple whether your Apple Account owns the Pass Pack and remembers the answer on your iPhone, so ads stay off when you open the app. Restore purchase asks Apple again. Apple's privacy policy applies to the payment: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/

Emails you choose to send us

KenDrive never sends anything to us by itself. Some buttons open a pre-filled email that you can read, change or delete before you decide to send it:

  • Report a problem (with a question): marks the question on your iPhone and opens an email with the question's ID and text, the app version and space for your note.
  • Report an ad (Profile › Ads): opens an email with the type of the last ad you saw (between sessions or one you chose to watch), when it was shown, the reference number Google gave it (its "response ID") and the name of the ad network that delivered it, plus the app version, your iOS version and space for your note. We use these details only to look into the ad with Google and get it blocked if needed. If your iPhone can't send email, the app shows our address and the details for you to copy instead.
  • Support (Profile › Help): an email to us with the subject "KenDrive support".

If you send one of these emails, we receive what's in it and your email address (and any name your email app adds). We use them only to answer you and to fix the problem.

Keeping and deleting your data

  • On your iPhone: your answers, progress, settings and results stay on your device until you tap Profile › Reset progress (which erases them) or delete the app. The ad counters stay until you delete the app.
  • Advertising: the data Google collects for ads is kept and deleted under Google's own policy (https://policies.google.com/technologies/retention). We don't hold it. You can change your ad choices at any time in Profile › Ads › Ad privacy choices.
  • Settings file requests: kept only in our web host's server logs, for the period given in "Ad limit settings" above.
  • Emails you send us (support, problem and ad reports): kept until your question is answered, then deleted within 12 months. You can ask us to delete them at any time at the Contact address below.

Children and young people

KenDrive is made for people learning for the UK car theory test. Most are 17 or older, but younger teenagers may use the app too, so we give everyone the same protections: KenDrive itself collects no personal data, there is no tracking, and ads are never personalised and are limited to content suitable for general audiences. KenDrive is not made for children under 13.
